The monument to the leaders of the "Great Troika" of Joseph Stalin, Winston Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt was inaugurated in the second day of the conference «Yalta 1945. Past, Present, Future» at the Livadia Palace in Yalta.
The heads of the Allied Powers of the anti-Hitler coalition are depicted by the sculptor Zurab Tsereteli talking in the seats.
Recall that carved monument Tsereteli offered to install it in Livadia ten years ago - to the 60th anniversary of the Yalta conference, but the Ukrainian parties opposed to it. In addition, the radical representatives of the Crimean Tatars were against the installation of the monument as they hate Stalin for deportation.
However, after the unification of the Crimea and Russia, the leadership of the Crimea decided to erect a monument in time for the anniversary of the historic meeting of world leaders. The opening ceremony of the sculpture was attended by the participants of the conference «Yalta 1945. Past, Present, Future», experts, politicians, historians and political scientists. The ceremony was attended by Chairman of the state Duma Sergey Naryshkin, who called on world leaders not to forget the experience of Yalta, 1945.
