"The Ministry of Justice twice hurried and twice broke the law"

Russian Ministry of Justice annulled the registration of "Progress Party" Alexei Navalny. The reason for this was the failure to meet the obligations of registration of regional branches. The two sides "Kommersant FM" called the decision illegal and the Ministry of Justice pointed out that it can not interfere with the party bulk nominate their candidates for the elections.

The Ministry of Justice has deprived registration "Progress Party" Alexei Navalny. The official announcement is published on the web-site. It says that the law "On political parties" structure had six months to register the regional offices in at least half of the regions of Russia. In October 2014, "Progress Party" reported on 44 such offices. However, in 16 regions officers have been formalized in six months and by the end of a year another 25 around the country. In addition, in regions where the party was refused to register, it complained to the court. The decision of the Ministry of Justice illegally, as many proceedings are not finished yet, said "Kommersant FM" secretary of the Central Council "Progress Party" Dmitry Krainev.

"Firstly, we can not be eliminated, because the law provides a special procedure for the liquidation of political parties. Second, the party that is in the process of registration, can not be eliminated until the end of the final judgment on the appeal against the refusal of registration of regional branches, - told Dmitry Krainev.

The decision of the Ministry of Justice is quite legitimate. "Progress Party" really broke some rules of registration, so there is no political motivation, - said "Kommersant FM" Konstantin Kostin, the chairman of the Board of the Civil Society Development Foundation.

"The Ministry of Justice always acts according to the law. There can be no exceptions, any special conditions for those who call themselves the opposition. The law is the same for all parties, which exist in Russia. More, many " Progress Party " activists admitted that they really can not fulfill the necessary requirements, so I do not think we are talking about some kind of the barrier, "- said Kostin.
